In 50 days we’ll make the big leap into 2020. As we look back over the year, there are many things to celebrate, notably the rise of women entrepreneurs globally. Reviewing the Dell Women Entrepreneur Cities Index measuring a city’s ability to attract and support high-potential women entrepreneurs to grow and scale their businesses, I found some interesting statistics and findings.
From the list of 50 cities, San Francisco and New York are leading the way. Latin American and Europe have the highest percentages of cities moving up but APAC has also seen an increase in talent and technology. Tokyo moved up from the bottom 10 and Singapore remains on top for technology and a talented pool of professionals helping to scale a business. The Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs places Singapore and the Philippines with the best opportunities for women to thrive as entrepreneurs. That being said, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong and China are not far behind.
